Marian Rivera-Dantes: On starting simple
and finding partners to lean on

The moment she steps in the lobby of the Century Park Hotel, Marian Rivera-Dantes has every single person looking at her. Some celebrities would go to great lengths to remain unseen, but not her. She smiles at every one in her way. It is easy to see why every Filipino from all walks of life can’t help but admire her and be enamored by her. Maria Rivera-Dantes - the quintessential primetime queen - is charming, elegant, and down-to-earth all at the same time.

Despite her success, Marian exudes simplicity and gratitude. She clearly knows how to prepare for the future given her different roles in life: as an artist, mom, wife, and entrepreneur. Apart from her own hard work, she recognizes that all her achievements were made possible by the people who helped her along the way.

When we finally got Marian on the interview seat, we saw a confident and empowered woman. She’s a natural conversationalist. She shared how she chooses her work especially when it comes to endorsing brands and how PNB hasbecome partof the milestones in her life.

How do you choose which brands to endorse?
Actually, to be honest, mapili ako sa mga ine-endorse ko at sinisigurado ko na kapag ine-endorse ko siya, unang-unasa lahat, naniniwala ako at kung ano man ‘yan, kailangan ginagamit ko o gagamitin ko ‘yan. So, ganoon ako ka-metikulosa pagdating sa mga endorsements.

How do you feel about endorsing PNB?
Of course, I'm very thankful.

Who are the people you can lean on?
Naku. As in, the whole family talaga. Especially, of course, my husband, my Team Marian, the Triple A. So, ang dami nila na masasandalan talaga. So, madami sila.

How do you make sure that your family's future remains secure?
I have (a) business. I have Flora Vida. So, may anak ako, kailangan nag-iipon ako para sa future niya and, of course, artist ako and lahat ng ‘yan iniipon ko for the future talaga.

What are your tips for those who want to save?
Dati talaga, maipon akong tao e. So, mas masarap‘yung mag-ipon ka muna, isipin mo muna kinabukasan mo, ‘yung future mo. Kapag nandiyan na lahat, instant na lahat ‘yan. So mas maganda na i-secure mo muna ‘yung sarili mo bago ang lahat.

Who influences your decisions on where to invest?
And then, of course, nag-asawa ako.

For a brief moment during the interview, it felt like talking to a close friend who cares about our future.
