Philippine National Bank’s (PSE: PNB) investment banking arm, PNB Capital and Investment Corporation, earned two major honors at The Asset Triple A Country Awards, held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Singapore last July 2, 2025. PNB Capital was recognized for its excellence in sustainable finance, winning the awards for “Renewable Energy Deal of the Year–Solar” and “Renewable Energy Deal of the Year–Rooftop Solar”.

“These wins are not just milestones for our team, but for the communities and industries we serve,” said PNB Capital President Gerry Valenciano. “We are proud to play a part in accelerating the Philippines’ transition to clean energy by mobilizing capital towards projects that deliver real social and environmental impact.”

The “Renewable Energy Deal of the Year–Solar” award was given for PNB Capital’s role as lead financial advisor and arranger for the PHP18.23-billion project finance facility secured by 3 Barracuda Energy Corporation for its Bugallon Solar Power Project—a 650.1-MWp solar facility in Bugallon, Pangasinan, under MGreen (Meralco PowerGen Corp.) and Vena Energy. The transaction demonstrated PNB Capital’s expertise in structuring complex, large-scale deals that support the country’s sustainability goals.

Further, the “Renewable Energy Deal of the Year–Rooftop Solar” award recognized PNB Capital’s successful arrangement of a PHP2.16-billion syndicated term-loan facility for Buskowitz Energy Inc. to fund the development, construction, and operation of rooftop solar PV systems across the Philippines. The project promotes sustainable energy practices while helping address peak power demand.

Both deals underscore PNB Capital’s commitment to sustainable finance and its growing leadership in renewable energy transactions. Beyond infrastructure, these projects contribute to national energy security, job creation, and improved quality of life in local communities.
